Incorrect colour

A packshot or studio image can look good. But if the colour of the garment is slightly off, the image can’t be used.

The problemSame trousers, two different browns

When we launched Weon Studio, we listed ten problems that stand between an AI image and one you can publish. Over the coming weeks we’re taking them on one at a time. The first one is colour.

Differences in garment colour between packshots, studio images and campaign images are not a problem that only comes with AI. They happen in traditional photoshoots too, often because of differences in lighting.

In both cases the effect on the customer is the same. When the colour in one image doesn’t match the colour in another, it creates uncertainty about what the product actually looks like. That uncertainty can lead to a reduced conversion rate. So if the colour is off, the image can’t go on the product page, however good it looks otherwise.

How Weon solves itChange the colour. Keep everything else.

Weon has developed specific tooling to change the colour of a specific garment in a generated image, easily and consistently. It’s part of Retouch, where you can be precise about exactly what you want to change in your garments. Everything else in the image stays the same.

Under the hood

The solution combines traditional image segmentation with state-of-the-art AI editing models.

RECOLOURMatch it to your packshot

With Recolour, you can change the colour of a garment using your own reference image, so the generated image matches the real product.
